Philosophy from grammar books

Spanish grammar fact that can be interpreted as a general statement: "Ideas are feminine."

Revision hell persists. Despite having at one time or another attended Moorhead State University (now Minnesota State University Moorhead -- it's always a sign of a quality institution when a university feels the need to re-brand), University of Portsmouth, University of Nevada Reno and Mesa College, this year is really the first time I have cared about the outcome of things.

So, this is my first real occurrence of revision stress. I don't have the experience of coping and knowing how much panic is reasonable. Obviously it's good to have a bit of a fire lit under oneself for these things. But at the moment I seem to be suffering pretty much every stress-induced ailment imaginable. If I were an old man at a supermarket, I would explain these ailments in detail. Suffice to say, I am a wreck.

Shit. How much time have I wasted writing this post?

Coping is your middle name.

Cope, Chris, Cope!

Mankato State University re-branded to Minnesota State University Mankato. It's all a conspiracy, I tell you.

Birmingham Polytechnic rebranded University of Central England - what's that all about? Which bit was the problem, the Birmingham or the Polytechnic? I liked being at a Poly rather than a university - it felt a bit more "real" than at uni, and less wankers from private schools - always a bonus.

Ack! I am so excited to have found you! (Cue romantic music) not quite like that. I must tell you that I am also from good old Minnesota and just recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a BA in Theatre and Radio/TV/Film. I was alerted to your existence from someone else posting on a Welsh message board. We are alike! My entire life I have felt a strange but compelling calling to live in Wales. I, too, am teaching myself Welsh and have been over the past two years. It is hard going but there is little I like doing more. My goal is fluency and I cannot wait to be able to converse in it normally. I also really, really want to go to Wales to pursue an MA or Doctorate in Welsh!! I must ask you about how your experience is going. I plan on getting married in Oct. of 08 and think I could possibly get going on moving over there for school shortly after that. My finace is totally cool with it all, too - thank goodness. I can't believe that there is someone out there who has had the same dream as me - and realized it! What university do you think would be the best? My goal is to work in the Welsh media (radio, tv) one day. Can you tell how excited I am? If you would like to correspond (even a little) please email me at I would love it!

I'm pulling for you.

Also, stress-induced ailments suck ass. I've had a few of those. At the risk of sounding like the Californian that I am, things like meditation and yoga can help...seriously.
